Faye Riley, Senior Stylist at , revealed she notices lots of customers trying something new in the New Year.

She said: “Our hair is something we can control.

“So, it's empowering to make changes, try something new and let go of old habits if we have experienced something we can’t control such as a break-up or job change especially as we enter the New Year.

“People go for a fresh-cut, fresh colour and a fresh start! I love being part of people’s transformations and really helping them become their best selves.

“The beauty industry is so fast-paced and I love thinking on my feet and learning new techniques, products and trends.”

As the New Year approaches, senior stylist and hair expert Faye revealed she often sees ladies going for glam hairstyles.

She said nothing says glam like sleek retro Hollywood waves with a deep side part.

But she added that the beginning of 2022 is a great time to revamp your day-to-day look.

She said: “I know some people can take or leave New Year's Eve, but it’s a great excuse to dress up and really ring in 2022 in style!

“The styles are simple to recreate and timeless, you will be trying these hairstyles all the way through 2022.”

But there’s also some easy hair cuts and styles for busy mums that are low-maintenance and suit most women.

If you’re looking for an easy mum style, Faye said you should opt for a mid-length bob.

The expert hair stylist said: “A mid-length bob is easy to style and actually looks great, messy and wavy.

“Plus, it’s still long enough to pull back into a low bun.

“It's also a great style to consider when you want to try something shorter, but don't want to commit to anything too drastic straight away.”

The expert hair stylist went on to explain that the versatile haircut really suits everyone as it can easily be customised.

This includes hair length, texture and styling.

She suggested that women can look at cuts between the chin and shoulders and then style wavy, curled, or blow-dried straight.

Senior stylist and hair expert Faye went on to reveal the top five styles that suit most ladies - making them the perfect choice for a New Year makeover.

TOP STYLES THAT SUIT EVERYONE

SLEEK AND STRAIGHT

Loved by Kendall Jenner and Kim Kardashian on the red carpet,  a sleek and straight hairstyle is quite easy to recreate.

Faye said: “Remember to use heat protection spray when straightening and apply a small amount of hair oil for extra shine.

“No matter the length or texture of your hair it will give you the glossy base to accessories with glitzy pins and snazzy hair slides.”

MESSY UPDO

Another easy style is the messy updo - it’s great as it looks fab on everyone, making it the perfect style for a New Year makeover.

Senior stylist Faye said there’s a reason the messy updo is the most searched style on Pinterest.

She said: “Wear high low at the nape of the neck and simply take small waved and textured sections and pin.

“Don’t overthink the placement of the pins, the aim of the look is purposely messy but still looks polished for that model-off-duty look.”

TOP KNOT BUN

Another hairstyle to go for if you’re looking to play it safe in the New Year, is a top knot bun.

Senior Stylist Faye explained that there’s nothing more timeless than this style and it can be worn by everyone.

All you need to do is spray a comb with hairspray and brush strands of hair through and up for a really snatched look, advised Faye.

HALF UP HALF DOWN

She said: “This is perfect for longer hair with a big bouncy blow and short hair if the hair isn’t long enough for a ponytail.”

Faye also suggested that a half-up-half-down hairstyle is another that looks great on everyone.

TOUSLED WAVES

While the expert hair stylist added that tousled waves are another safe and easy bet to take you into 2022.

Faye explained: “Section the hair into one-inch sections.

“Then, using a curling wand or iron, begin to wrap the hair around at least two inches down from your roots to give hair a slight bend. Voila!”

Meanwhile, beauty fans are scrambling to get their hands on that they claim is better than Olaplex.

I’m a hairstylist and I hate it when people don’t wash their hair for days before an appointment - it’s gross, it smells and it DOESN’T make an up-do easier
