This year Chinese New Year will land on Tuesday, February 1, 2022.
Chinese New Year and Lunar New Year are often used synonymously and in the right context usually refer to the same holiday.
Chinese New Year is not just one day as New Year usually is in other countries.
The Chinese New Year lasts for a total of 16 days, but only the first seven days are considered a public holiday.
The public holiday will be honored from January 31 through February 6, 2022.
What is the 2022 Chinese zodiac?
Each year there is a different animal from the Chinese zodiac that will be the designated animal for the year.
2022 is officially the year of the tiger, in 2021 it was the year of the ox.
Tigers are the third animal in the Chinese zodiac and are known to represent confidence.

When is the Lantern Festival?
The Chinese New Year is separated into three periods of celebration.
There is the Little Year, the Spring Festival, and the Lantern Festival.
