The mum took to Facebook to show off her organisational skills, where she packs her children's' packed lunches on a Sunday for the week ahead.

She wrote: "'Sundays are for smashing out a week's worth of lunch boxes.

"Doing this every Sunday really helps when our weeks are so busy!"

The Australian mum shared an image displaying the ten packed lunches which included;  sandwich, cheese cubes, fruit, blueberry bread, chopped vegetables and what looks like a piece of chocolate cake.

While the content of the lunches look like a balanced and health variety, many parents deemed it 'unsafe'.

Some users couldn't help but be grossed out by the thought of five-day-old soggy sandwiches, "I have bad memories from my mum pre making sandwiches... they were so gross," one wrote.

The post was flooded with comments from users deeming it 'unsafe', one wrote: "I do fresh every night and I have five. That's not safe and you can't keep them fresh for five days."

One user, claiming to be a kitchen manager urged the mum not to pack lunches so far in advance, "'I am a kitchen manager and it's not safe!" The user wrote.

"Glad it works for you, it's great. It's a NO from me. I wouldn't want to eat five-day-old sandwiches." A third user commented.

The mum hit back after being inundated with comments telling her it wasn't safe.

She said: "I've never had an issue with anything going bad.

"I make sure to use just bought fresh fruit/veg and try to use fruit/veg that doesn't need to be cut up so they stay fresher for longer."

Other parents were impressed by the mum's organisational skills as one commented: "This is great, I pre-make and freeze sandwiches for the kids they get them out every night after dinner - spent 95 per cent of today cooking and baking so the kids (five at school, preschool and day-care) have snacks for during the week."
