OLIVE oil can elevate the taste of any dish.
Pour it over some pasta, drizzle it on bread, or use it to season your chicken.
A food and health expert who goes by @CoryLRodriguez on TikTok, said most of us are making a big mistake when we purchase our olive oil.
, he began: “Most stores have quite a large selection just like this.”
Although there are many options, not every EVOO is made equally.
“What you want to avoid buying is olive oil in plastic clear containers like you see most of them here.”
According to the expert, “olive oil is sensitive to light, heat, and oxygen, so the chance of your olive oil going rancid is much higher.”
We obviously want to preserve that robust, fruity flavor for as long as possible.

To do that, Cory said to look for olive oil that is stored in a dark, glass bottle.
Olive oil can be used for more than just cooking.
According to a sleep expert, it can prevent snoring as well.
If you or your partner can’t stay quiet at night, you may want to try out this hack.
James Wilson, a sleep practitioner and the founder of , told The Sun: “If people [are] snoring, particularly if they've had spicy food or alcohol, you can take a spoonful of olive oil.
"It's anti-inflammatory and that reduces the snoring.
“From experience, it’s not nice or tasty. It doesn’t stop it altogether, or for everyone.
“But for a lot of people, it gives your partner enough time to get to sleep before you start snoring.”
James said you don't have to use olive oil every night, but instead just when the airways may be particularly inflamed.
“It could be when you've got a bit of a cold,” he said.
“But I find it works best when people have had spicy food or alcohol.”
Snoring happens when the muscles in the mouth and throat relax, sometimes so much so that they partially block your airway and vibrate.
The more narrowed your airway, the more forceful the airflow becomes and the louder the snoring.
Olive oil may help to reduce this vibration by decreasing swelling in the airways that can be triggered by spicy food or alcohol.

It’s also a lubricant, and by keeping the tissues of the throat moist, it may reduce contact and therefore, vibration.
Whether or not this natural remedy works for you may come down to how severe your snoring is.
