WHEN THINGS don't work out between parents it can be hard for the whole family to adjust.
Their children often feel the brunt of the divorce no matter what their age is when it happens, and one person took to Reddit with their experience.
Taking to the Reddit forum, truth off my chest, the anonymous user said they wasn't even sure how to feel about the situation but clearly wanted somewhere to vent.
The person said their father had remarried shortly after their parents divorce, and that his new bride was significantly younger.
The wound was still fresh as the wedding has only just happened a few days before the user posted to Reddit.
They wrote: "Welp. This weekend my dad married his girlfriend.
";My parents got divorced over my dad cheating with her."
The user stated the affair started a year ago, so it seems the marriage was quite hasty.
But what concerned the user more was the fact their new stepmum was younger than them.
They added: "I'm 24 and my new stepmom is 20.
"So there's that and I'm not sure what exactly I'm feeling right now."
In a comment under the post, the user said their father and his new wife had a 25 year age gap, with the affair starting when she was 19 and their dad was 44-years-old.
Reddit users who saw the post had lots of hilarious recommendations to make the poster feel better, one said: "Does she have a dad? Fight fire with fire."
"Offer to take your dad out to a bar and she stays home because she's not 21." Wrote another user.
A Third person added: "Just make sure to call her mom all the time that would be pretty funny to be honest.";
"Become her stepmom, problem solved." Commented a fourth user.
