A PROFESSIONAL cleaner has revealed the cleaning routine you absolutely need to make tidying your home easier.
Melissa Maker, from the US, shared her clever technique on , to help others learn how to clean properly.
Melissa started her own cleaning company over 15 years ago, and although she admits she doesn't love cleaning, she knows how to do it effectivley and efficiently.
She added: "In order to teach myself what to do, I created the Three Wave cleaning system.
"It took a lot of research and practice and today I'm going to share it with you."
If you struggle to know where to start when cleaning a room the Three Wave technique helps make it manageable.
Melissa describes a 'wave' as a full sweep around the room, and each wave focuses on a different element of cleaning and tidying.
The first wave focuses on tidying and organising a room.

Melissa said she always starts working in a clockwise direction from the door of each room.
She adds: "You cannot clean if a space is untidy as it takes too much time and too much work.
In Wave One you should focus on putting stuff back where it belongs and taking anything that doesn't belong in a basket to be sorted after you're done cleaning.
Melissa notes that some may see this as counterintuitive but by getting all the organising and tidying out the way, you're able to focus on cleaning.
The Second Wave then consists of actually cleaning the room.
During this wave, Melissa spends her time cleaning, dusting, disinfecting, and polishing.
She notes that thinking ahead is important here to make the job quicker.
Melissa makes sure she has all of the cleaning tools and products she needs for the room on hand and thinks ahead about what cleaning techniques she will use.
For instance, if you know you have to disinfect the bathroom, it may be a good idea to spray that first and let it sit on the surface for the amount of time that's needed.
Whilst waiting, you can go ahead and shine the mirrors, making the process much more time-efficient.
In Wave Three, Melissa focuses on the floors of the room and the rubbish, she says this usually takes five to ten minutes to complete.
She starts with taking any rubbish out of the room and putting a new binliner in.
Then she goes on to sweep or vacuum the room, she shares that she will always mop the bathroom and kitchen.
But while cleaning other rooms with hardwood floors she will only mop as and when needed.
Melissa added: Whether you love cleaning or hate it like me, you still need a plan because you probably want to get on to doing more exciting things in life than cleaning."
Viewers of the video loved Melissa's Three Wave technique, one wrote: "This has been an eye-opening for me. You are right, planning is the key."
"I tried it and it really works! Thank you for sharing these techniques!" Another user exclaimed.
A third commented: "I LOVED this!!! I’m going to start it right now because it doesn’t feel overwhelming!!! Thank you!"
Plus, I run a home cleaning company and this is why you are always dusting.
