Mrs Hinch rose to fame thanks to her savvy and cheap cleaning hacks and fans became so obsessed they even started social media groups sharing their own top tips for cleaning.

Asking for help on the Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips Facebook page, one user wrote: “What is the best device for cleaning skirting boards without having to be down on your knees?”

As we all know, skirting boards are prone to becoming dusty and it can be a chore having to scrub them.

Dusting with a microfibre cloth or a hoover is a popular way to sort the problem, but fans reckon a wet mop is the best way.

Posting on the same page, one user said: “My mop which I use all round the house, only 88p from a shop in my village, I use it for everything including skirting boards and the floors, super easy work.”

Another user suggested: “A damp mop is the only way to clean your skirting boards, it’s cheap and easy to do.

“If you get one with a long enough handle, you won’t have to bend down at all and it’ll save your back.”

Other Mrs Hinch fans recommended using disinfectant with the mop bucket water to help clean the skirting boards as well as remove any dust.

Other users recommended a Dishmatic, a washing up tool you can refill, and filling it up with fabric softoner.

Fabric softener can help prevent dust from sticking to the pain from the skirting board.

Others recommended mixing water and fabric softener into a spray bottle and using a mop to clean at the same time.
