YOU'VE been booking your flights too far in advance, advises one travel expert on TikTok.
Prices will come down if you wait until about a month or a month and a half before your travel dates to book your flight, according to TikToker Erica Pish.
"Here's something that airlines don't want you to know," Erica says in the beginning of her .
She then explains that when airlines first post their schedules, they open seats at a "higher fare class."
Erica says that the prices for those seats will come down about 21 to 90 days before the flight.
Exceptions to this include major holidays, big event dates, and flights to destinations with limited air service.

However, Erica's tip is specific to domestic flights — in the caption, she acknowledges that "international is a different ballgame though."
Erica isn't the first TikToker to share the saving hack of booking later than you originally planned.
A former flight attendant encouraged travelers to book their flights one to three months in advance.
She also shared on TikTok that there are reminders that travelers can set to notify them whenever ticket prices drop.

The flight attendant also recommends using the Skyscanner website as an alternative to Expedia to find cheap flights.
