15 things that are sure to happen on every episode of The Chase
Here's why it's one of the most-loved quiz shows ever
WEEKDAYS wouldn’t be complete without ITV’s most popular quiz show, The Chase.
But what makes the afternoon TV show so popular?
The show has graced British television screens for eight years, and its popularity still hasn't faltered.
In fact, it's attracted quite the cult following on social media.
From Bradley Walsh’s amazing one-liners to cutting comebacks from contestants, every episode follows a very particular formula.
But did you notice the common themes? Here are 15 things that happen on every episode of The Chase…
1. Viewers are sent into meltdown over a fit contestant
There've been a whole host of hotties on the quiz show that have left viewers feeling hot under the collar.
Recently, a 26-year-old contestant was inundated with marriage proposals after appearing on the programme.
And fans were VERY distracted by this blonde bombshell as she took on The Governess earlier this year.
2. Then they guess which Chaser will appear
It's the moment that leaves contestants quaking in their boots - just which Chaser is going to waltz into the studio?
Fans of the show enjoy hedging their bets about which trivia genius will be appearing on the episode.
3. We all judge contestants on how they plan on spending their winnings
Bradley always asks guests how they would spend the prize fund, and we've had some bonkers responses over the years.
Viewers were left flabbergasted when one humble quizzer vowed to splash the catch on a cross stitch magazine subscription.
And a contestant was trolled after she said she wanted to invest in a face lift.
4. A comment will inevitably be made about The Beast's weight
Poor Mark Labbett really does have to put up with a lot of abuse from The Chase viewers.
Thankfully he takes the jibes in good spirit.
In an episode earlier this year, he joked with a female truck driver that she would struggle with his "wide load".
5. Shaun Wallace will jump at the chance to burst into song
He may be terrifying when you're in the hot seat, but the Dark Destroyer isn't afraid to show off his fun side.
The quizzing aficionado has surprised fans on numerous occasions by breaking into song.
But we don't think he'll be challenging Bradley's musical career any time soon.
6. A quiz hopeful will muck up the cash builder
Nothing quite leaves viewers cringing like a contestant failing to get any questions in the cash builder correct.
Coach driver Alan from Cumbria was left blushing after making the embarrassing blunder.
And Ant and Dec were among the viewers to mock quizzer Hannah following her pitiful performance.
7. And there's bound to be some stupid answers
Just like with every quiz show, answering questions under the glaring studio lights can prove difficult.
Everyone was shocked when one contestant couldn't remember the colour of the Statue of Liberty.
The Chase fanatics were also frustrated by another contestant who had an unusual idea of where a mantelpiece should go.
8. Anne Hegerty will enjoy a little flirt
The Governess is always partial to a bit of flirting on the show.
Viewers were recently shocked when Frosty Knickers hit on a young guest.
9. A contestant will enrage viewers by taking a minus offer
You'll never quite know betrayal until you see a quizzer take prize winnings off their fellow contestants.
Nervous Kelly was called "pond scum" when she opted to play it safe, while teaching assistant Ciaran's actions were labelled "murder worthy" when he took an offer of minus £15,000 late last year.
10. Paul Sinha will nail a medical question
Dozens of viewers have expressed their annoyance when The Sinnerman is given a question on his specialist subject.
When the professional doctor is asked about medicine, he rarely puts a foot wrong.
11. Bradley Walsh will descend into giggles
Brad can't contain his laughter when any question contains innuendo.
Luckily, us viewers always lap up his sense of humour.
12. People will question when The Vixen became a Chaser
Even though Jenny Ryan has been a Chaser for more than a year, viewers are still baffled by the newest edition to the line-up.
Every episode, you can see confused fans asking who the flame-haired quiz expert is.
13. Everyone guesses how many steps the team will get on the final chase
Half the fun of the final Chase is guessing how many steps the quizzers will manage to get - and whether or not they'll win.
14. Viewers accuse the whole show of being a fix
Is it even a Chase expert if the show isn't accused of being a fix?
Despite the viewer backlash, Mark Labbett has slammed claims, and would take a Jeremy Kyle lie detector test to prove it’s not.
15. Everyone can't wait to watch it again the next day
For many, relaxing in front of The Chase after work is one of the daily highlights.
The minute it's over, fans are already calling for it to return.
