I work at Disney World and there’s 10 secret employee hacks to have an even more amazing trip
VISITING Disney World is always an exciting experience, no matter your age.
But if you want to make the most out of your holiday there are a few tricks that will add an extra serving of magic to your trip.
Sofia Olivar worked at Disney World for three years, talk about a dream job.
She revealed some of the best hacks that she’s picked up along the way to, and you’d be a fool to not try them.
Get the best parade views
Sofia confessed the best spots to watch the famous Disney parades are “right on Main Street or at the base of the Liberty Square bridge.”

She explained that Main Street can get busy pretty quickly, so grabbing a viewing spot early is vital.
And if you want great character interactions stand at the start of Liberty Bridge.
Lunch fit for a princess
Friar’s Nook in Fantasyland is the perfect spot to take in the epic views of Cinderella’s castle with delicious hot food.
Sofia also recommended getting a refreshing Starbucks to help wash it all down with.
Stick to seasonal foods at Epcot
Sofia said: “I recommend sticking to the seasonal festival booths around the World Showcase that rotate throughout the year for Festival of the Arts, Flower and Garden, Food and Wine, and Festival of the Holidays. “
It’s a great opportunity to try a verity of nibbles with friends and family if you don’t want to commit to one large meal as well.
Margaritas are a must
“I always order my drink inside the pyramid at La Cava del Tequila. I’m from Mexico, and I’ll vouch for these margaritas.
“No matter how long the line is, they’re worth it. I especially love the avocado margarita,” the Disney pro says.
Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar
If you’re a fan of Indiana Jones, this bar is a must-see according to Sofia.
With a brilliant Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark theme, “the story is that Jock Lindsey, Indy’s friend, adapted his airplane hangar into a rest stop for travellers and locals to visit,” Sofia explained.
Grab a seat inside for the best experience, “but watch out for Jock’s pet snake, Reggie, because he might be on the loose.”
Pixie dust
It doesn’t matter how old your are, visit Sir Mickey’s souvenir shop in Fantasyland and ask an employee if you can get “pixie dusted.”
Sofia explained that she didn’t want to ruin the magic with too much information on this hack, but assured that it’s worth doing.
Meet the characters
Sofia admitted that meeting the characters is one of her favourite things to do in Disney World.
She urged people to ask plenty of questions, or compliment them and tell them about yourself – they love it!
Visit Remy in Paris
The best time to visit pro chef Remy is right before they close, Sofia confessed.
She continued: “But make sure you get your timing right if you’re also planning on watching Epcot’s Harmonious fireworks show at park close, which I highly recommend.”
Watch the fireworks
Sofia said: “For Magic Kingdom’s night-time shows, I recommend going to the Grand Floridian, Polynesian, or Contemporary resorts.
“You’ll get amazing seats to view the fireworks, and the resorts also play the soundtrack to the show.”
Grab food at Skipper Canteen
If you’re a fan of Jungle Cruise, Skipper Canteen is a must see.
