I lost over 17 stone but my excess skin is so bad, I still hate my body & look like a melted candle
A WOMAN has compared her new body to a melted candle after losing a whopping 17 stone.
A 34-year-old woman, from Redmond, Washington, has opened up about her emotional weight loss journey – and although she is proud of how far she’s come, she still hates her new body.
Growing up in a farm, Calisto always used to be an overweight kid, but then, when she was just 14, something happened that changed the course of her life.
”A neighbour of ours dumped banned pesticides that ended up seeping onto our property.
”I was hospitalised from exposure to these harmful chemicals.
”And then I suffered through many years of sickness and constant fatigue.”

This meant that Calisto was no longer able to do the regular activities she loved so much before the incident – and her weight doubled in no time.
”I was sick up until I was 21 and ended up about 420 pounds (30 stone),” she revealed.
With major dieting and exercise, she managed to drop just over seven stone on her own.
This was then followed by a lap band surgery – which saw her lose a total of a whopping 17 stone.
But although she was now healthier than ever and had even begun modelling, there was a secret that was slowly eating her up at the time.
”I still had pounds and pounds of extra skin.

”I can’t stand looking at it because my skin looks like a person who’s in their 90s.
”It’s something that’s always on my mind,” Calisto said, adding the constant chafing hurt.
Desperate to gain back confidence, the woman had her excess skin removed – a total of a whopping 1.5 stone.
And although the surgery was painful and the recovery time was long, she was overwhelmed with positive emotions.
”I’m starting to see a normal body. I’m definitely happy with how I look.

”I can finally wear jeans that are tighter and shorts that don’t have to cover that area.”
Posing in front of a mirror, she said: ”I feel comfortable and actually confident now.”
