WHAT you see in this image can determine what your main personality trait is - and the answer might surprise you.

There are five total faces hidden in the mind-boggling image: Two people in the faces of the older couple, one playing guitar, and a woman in the background behind the guitar player.

If you noticed the old couple in the picture first, you take a larger look at life. You don't like getting stuck with details, making you a natural leader.

If however, you spotted the three people first, your attention to detail is impeccable. You prefer knowing things in depth rather than superficially.

An optical illusion is a visual illusion that is created by the visual system and is defined by a visual perception that differs from reality.

  • Can you find all eight animals?

This woodland scene might seem like a peaceful treeline, but it's more than that.

There are eight animals, of all sizes, hidden in the brain-boggling image.

You might be able to spot one or two of the animals right away, especially if you're looking for specific body parts.

For example, there are two animals in the center, and you can see them easily if you're on the hunt for their snouts.

  • Can you pinpoint the curve?

    Your eyes are deceiving you.

While it looks like some of these lines are curved, this is actually a grid of straight lines.

That's because the illusion relies on the strategic placement of colors and shapes to trick your brain.

Scientists have previously explained that an illusion can occur when your brain guesses what's going on in an image as you stare at just one part of it.

Illusion lover Michael Bach offered an explanation on .

"It can be made more apparent by applying a little blur (4–5). The blur occurs automatically in our visual system, because –largely unnoticed– our visual resolution rapidly falls off from the center of gaze: at 10° eccentricity our visual acuity is 1/10th of the central one.

"However, the periphery does not “feel” blurred, does it? Its sharpness is “invented” by our visual system, just as our blind spots are “filled in”.

Bach's theory suggests the lines in the illusion aren't actually curved in the way your brain is telling you.

  • How many triangles do you see?

Only one percent of the population can spot all of the triangles in this mind-bending illusion, according to a viral TikTok by a user called Hectic Nick.

Nick  the illusion and it quickly went viral, racking up 1.6million views and over 135k comments.

"It sounds simple, but it's not easy," he teased. The large, primary triangle was immediately apparent, as were some smaller triangles toward the top, but the rest of the image is filled with other shapes.

The number of triangles contained in the image is eighteen.

If you struggle to count them all, treat the lines in the image as a grid, and construct triangles of varying sizes row by row and column by column.

  • Viewers weigh in on the staircase illusion

Many commentators said they saw a grey staircase with a white wall.

However, most Redditors were certain they saw a white staircase with a grey wall.

After attempting to look at the staircase from various viewpoints, a second commentator said: “No matter how I look at it it looks like a white staircase with a grey wall.”

A third person also agreed that the staircase is white, commenting: “White staircase with grey wall.

They added that if you look at the picture flipped, “the perspective is slightly off so it looks like it [the staircase] curves.

  • Grey and white staircase controversy

The heavily debated illusion was posted on , challenging users to say what they saw – either a white staircase with a grey wall or a grey staircase with a white wall.

If you can only see the white staircase, try flipping the picture over. Likewise, if you can only see a grey staircase.

, a YouTube channel, shared an image, which drew hundreds of comments online.

However, there is another image within the photograph — that of a person crying, and the video’s narrator recommended meditation to those who saw this image.

“Take some time to relax and clear your mind,” the video’s narrator coached.

“You probably don’t pay enough attention to your feelings.”

    But where is the arm?

  • Reveal the bigger picture

This optical illusion is about to challenge everything we thought we knew about ourselves.

If you see a crocodile in this photo, you’re a “business creative,” meaning you can easily adapt to changes.

If you saw an island, you’re more of a “go-to” person, which means you’re a natural leader and good with people.

If you can easily see both, you like to look at the big picture rather than focus on small details.

  • See if you can spot the hidden animal

This confusing image shows a part of a field covered in snow but there is also an animal hiding- can you spot it?

Some branches and rock can be seen in the bright picture but Tiktokers were left baffled struggling to find the hidden bird.

Hectic Nick said: “This picture is not what you think it is.

“Right now it looks like an empty snowy field but I bet you didn’t notice the hidden bird!!

  • Love hurts, continued

If you see the painting then you’re in bliss when you’re in the middle of a dream.

Yes, you love your partner and have close connections with your friends but that doesn’t mean you’re always keen to spend time with them. Sometimes, you’re happier simply by emailing or texting and staying home alone.

If you saw two huts then you’re known to be a sensitive soul. You have no problem sharing your feelings – it’s just that, at times, they can be pretty intense and life can feel overwhelming.

You don’t like being criticized even if it’s constructive criticism and tend to lash out when it does come your way.

But if you’re feeling cornered, it’s ok to feel angry about it. Just be sure that you haven’t misinterpreted someone’s intentions.

  • Love hurts

If you’re struggling in your love life, this optical illusion may reveal why.

What you see first in the mystical painting by artist  will tell you exactly what you’re fearing.

If you saw a man’s face, that means your focus and enthusiasm make you a pleasure to be around. You live for the moment and once each day is done, you pack it away forever and start the next afresh, which is the only way to feel free, in your opinion.

If you saw the boy, you’re probably a jubilant and wistful person at heart and love being around people.

You don’t like being the center of attention but you also can’t go without being in a crowd of familiar faces. But what you hide in relationships is a fear of being a grown-up.

  • Optical illusion reveals level of selflessness

What do you think you’re seeing in this picture from the YouTube channel ?

If you initially see a face with closed eyelids, you are likely to care more about others than yourself.

You are regarded as the personification of selflessness.

If, on the other hand, you see a person standing on a hill with a tree, you’re a huge dreamer who always believes the best is yet to come.

Most of the time, you are upbeat.

  • Watch this coin disappear

A new version of a classic optical illusion has been created and shared by online gaming site, ,

Stare at the cross in the center of the image. After about 30 seconds, the coin behind it disappears completely.

This is due to the Troxler Effect, which is when the brain stops paying attention to visual scenes that don’t change.

With the image so blurry and indistinct, there is little for the eyes to focus on.  And if you combine that with an intense stare, the colors fade from view.

When looking at a specific point for even a short amount of time, anything outside of that point fades, essentially changing our perception of what’s actually there.

  • Your age determines what you see, continued

When the researchers separated the oldest 10 percent and the youngest 10 percent of those surveyed, they found that the older set saw the older woman first in the illusion.

The younger individuals, on the other hand, saw the younger figure.

The aim of the study was to determine if “own-age biases affect the initial interpretation of an image at a subconscious level.”

  • Your age could determine how you see a famous illusion

A 2018 study published by two psychology professors at Flinders University in Australia claimed that whichever figure you see in “My Wife or Mother-In-Law” relates to your age.

The study said that older people will notice the older woman first, whereas younger individuals will see the younger figure.

The study included 393 participants (242 males, 141 females) from ages 18 to 68, with a median age of 32.

They were shown the image for half a second and then were asked to reveal the gender and age of the figure they saw first.

Most of the participants saw the younger woman first.

Researchers said that that could be due to most participants leaning towards the younger side.

  • Famous two-faced illusion revealed

If you can spot all of the women hidden in this optical illusion, experts say you’re probably a brainiac.

“My Wife or Mother-In-Law” is one of history’s best-known illusions – and researchers believe that your age may determine what you see.

Viewers can see a young woman facing away, or an older, hook-nosed woman facing leftwards.

If you are struggling to make them both out, the clue to look for is the young girl’s chin, which doubles as the older woman’s nose.

The oldest version of the illusion first appeared on a German postcard in 1888.

The most famous version, seen here, was drawn by British cartoonist William Ely Hill and appeared in the American magazine “Puck” on November 6, 1915.

  • Reading comprehension test

Read the sentence in the triangle out loud to yourself.

    Now do it again.

Both times you most likely read “a bird in the bush,” which is wrong.

Only those who pay close attention to detail noticed it said “a bird in the the bush.”

Most of our brains skip past the repeated word.

  • Rick rolling illusion

In a video posted on TikTok, @HecticNick  what appears to be a painting of a house – but everything changes if you take another look.

“This picture is not what you think it is,” he said.

When looking directly at the image, he said: “It looks like a pretty normal painting.”

But once you turn your phone to the left, you’ll see an image of a man known as Rick Astley, in his suit from the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up.

This music video has been frequently used for memes, and its surprise appearance online has earned the name Rick Roll.

“Once you see it, you can’t unsee it,” said HecticNick.

  • Can you ‘face’ this illusion?

This pile of coffee beans has something hidden inside it, and it can reveal if you’re a genius.

If you look closely at the mind-bending , you should be able to see the man’s eyes peeping over the beans.

But, the length of time it takes viewers to solve the puzzle can offer an insight into whether they are a genius.

If you spotted the man between three seconds and a minute, it means that your brain is fully developed, according to experts at .

But, if it took you more than a minute, it means that your brain needs a protein boost.

  • Do you feel trapped in life? part two

If you saw the men first in the mind-bending YouTube clip, it is slightly better news as you are said to not feel trapped in your life.

It explains: “You live a life of adventure and excitement, moving from one challenge to the next and feeding off the adrenaline.

“You dread the idea of settling into a boring routine life more than anything else, but you need to acknowledge that there are benefits to finding some element of routine and normalcy.”

  • Do you feel trapped in life?

What you see first in this mind-boggling illusion, first shared on , can determine what you’re going through right now.

In this picture, some people see a series of white pillars against a black background. However, others notice the silhouette of two men looking at one another with a white background behind them.

According to the video, if you saw the pillars first, you prefer to “live life safely in your comfort zone and in an area where you know that you can succeed.”

It adds: “Is it really success if you are trapped beneath a low glass ceiling?

“The only way to break through and to truly feel the joys of success and accomplishment in life will be to venture into the uncomfortable unknown and shoot for the stars.”
