A survey has revealed the age of 53 is when we feel sexiest – less worried about what others think and happier in our bodies.

WHEN J-Lo turned 50, she declared: “I feel sexy, I feel youthful, I feel pretty sometimes.”

In fact, the mum-of-two admitted she looks at pictures of herself from her twenties and thinks: “Oh, I look better now.”

The American singer, actress and producer, who turns 53 next month, has always been dedicated to working out – and it shows.

She enjoys dance routines and weight-training five times a week, shuns alcohol and coffee and gets eight to ten hours of sleep a night.

STILL rocking her signature blonde locks, American beauty Jennifer vows she will keep on dyeing her hair “until the bitter end”.

She said: “I’m not gonna lie, I don’t want grey hair.”

Two years ago, to mark her 51st birthday, she stunned the world with a raunchy cover shoot for Interview magazine – wearing thigh-high boots, black hotpants and a leather jacket.

Those shots have racked up nearly 9.5million Instagram likes.

The Morning Show actress, now 53, swears by a daily glass of celery juice, uses a 24-carat gold sculpting bar on her face and has slapped on moisturiser since she was 15 years old.

TESS DALY

AS Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood might say of the show’s host, Tess looks fab-u-lous.

The ex-model works out two to three times a week with a personal trainer and also fits in daily yoga, even if it is just a 15-minute stretch before bed to help her sleep.

Mum-of-two Tess admits: “I need to have chocolate every day. It makes me happy.”

But she balances her diet with wholegrains, fruit and veg, and has not eaten red meat since she was a teen.

She is a fan of Ultherapy – a non-surgical skin-tightening and lifting treatment.

CATE BLANCHETT

FILM siren Cate swears by taking vitamins and a daily teaspoon of gut cleansing apple cider vinegar.

The Hobbit actress has been using Sk-Il Facial Treatment Essence, a Japanese treat loved by the stars for 20 years.

But even the luminous Australian, 53, admits she sometimes accidentally falls asleep with her make-up on.

For 2017 sci-fi flick Thor: Ragnarok, she revealed she endured “horrendous" workouts, to get into the best shape of her life.

As well as regular Pilates she credits running around after four children for keeping her trim.

GERARD BUTLER

THE British movie hunk likes to do cardio and weights five times a week to keep in shape, and will ramp that up as necessary for his roles.

For 2006 action blockbuster 300, in which he played Greek warrior king Leonidas of the ancient city-state of Sparta, he exercised for a gruelling six hours a day.

Gerard, 53 in November, has used trainer-to-the-stars Wesley Okerson, whose clients have included Tom Cruise and his ex-wife Katie Holmes, as well as Borat movie creator Sacha Baron Cohen and his wife, former Home And Away star Isla Fisher.

RENEE ZELLWEGER

BRIDGET JONES movie beauty Renee has an excellent philosophy for getting older. She says: “It’s not aging, it’s growing.”

American Matthew, 53 in November, told the Men’s Journal he does a 20-minute run, turns around, then does 20 press-ups ten times on the return leg – 200 in total.

In 2020 memoir Greenlights, he called sex “the original exercise”, adding: “It makes our companion see us in a more flattering light, which psychologically makes us feel like we look better.”
