According to Jordan, you can be as loud as you want

Luckily, one mum, Jordan Page, from the US, has come to rescue – offering a helping hand to fellow parents and those working in childcare, the mother-of-eight has shared a few tips.

In posted on YouTube, Jordan, who to some may be better known as the cheapskate mum, taught how to get your baby to sleep through the night.

According to the parent, the most important tip is following the ”Eat, Awake, Sleep” order.

”One of the mistakes that a lot of times we make as mums, especially with cute, brand-new babies, is to nurse them or bottle-feed them, and they fall asleep while they’re eating.

”But then they’re up 30 minutes later […] and they’re just not sleeping well.”

Jordan explained that no matter how old the baby is, it’s important to keep them awake after they’ve eaten – even if it’s just a few minutes.

This is because the child needs to work out all the bubbles and ”wiggles”, as well as filling up the diaper.

”The more they get out of their system, the longer they’re going to sleep,” the mum said, adding that this doesn’t apply for the feedings in the middle of the night.

Jordan also advised to be aware of the time and wearing a watch at all times when you’re a parent to a baby.

”Sometimes you just lose track – let’s be honest, we’re a little sleep-deprived.”

Since a baby, according to her, needs to be fed every three hours, you should note the time you’re feeding them.

”It really helps you to get in tune with your baby and what their needs are and not always run to feeding them every time they start getting a little fussy.”

Having to look after eight kids, Jordan knows the importance of having a good routine – this is key to her.

”My routine for my babies is we get them in the tub no matter what – sometimes it’s a quick tub, not even with soap.”

All rubbed up and in comfy pyjamas, the children – no matter their age – then get used to the night time routine.

Her next tip might sound unconventional to some but the mum claimed that the more noise you make, the better.

”Don’t keep the house quiet, don’t put the sign on the doorbell, don’t be afraid to vacuum.

”Keep the TV on, keep the conversation going,” she said.

So that they would get used to sleeping with noise around, Jordan swears by a white noise machine in their bedrooms.

”The white noise is very soothing to them and then noise in general will help them become a good sleeper and not wake up every time you hear something.”

Other tips included keeping their arms tight, putting the baby down on bed when they’re sleepy but still awake, as well rotating their necks to avoid stretched muscles and a flat head.
