Mum comes up with clever way to create a slip and slide for FREE for her kids this summer

EVERYBODY loves a slip and slide.

But you don’t need a fancy inflatable one, as one mum has shared a clever way to set it up in your garden – for free.

Ruth Smith posted on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group on Facebook to post her hack, writing: “Cheap fun idea for the kids.

“Go to a local carpet shop and ask for some polythene. It’s free!”

Then get a cheap bottle of washing up liquid, or even baby shampoo.

Put the polythene at the bottom of the slide, drench the slide and the matting with the washing up liquid and get the hose out.

“Enjoy!” she concluded.

People in the comments section were quick to praise Ruth for the idea, as they remembered doing it themselves as youngsters.

“The old ones are the best. Did this with my own kids 40 years ago,” one wrote.

“That’s great,” another added.

“My children had hours of fun doing this and the neighbours children joined in too,” a third wrote.

“Many years ago. Innocent fun.”

Others offered their own suggestions for making up a slip and slide.

“I got a load of cheap tarps from home bargains and did the same,” one wrote.

“Kept my kids busy for 5 hours a night.”

“Tarpaulin sheets are cheap and bigger as well if you have several kids, and bubble bath’s cheap and kinder to skin,” another added.

“We do this with my daughter’s airtrack and gym mats,” a third commented.
