My nightmare neighbours have BANNED me from playing music & complain when I brush my teeth – they’re making my life hell

YOU don't have to be best mates with your neighbours - but in an ideal world, it's a good idea to be able to ask them to take in your parcels or water your plants from time-to-time.

However, if you get on the wrong side of them then they can very easily make your life hell - as one poor woman has recently found out.

Sharing her dilemma on , the anonymous woman explained how she and the couple living upstairs got off on the wrong fit when she decked out her patio with seating, lights and some plants.

She wrote: "They told management my LED puck lights were cameras."

As a result, the woman rarely sat outside afterwards as they made her feel so "uncomfortable".

"I decided it wasn't worth the hassle so I removed everything," she said. "Tossed out $200 in perennial succulents because they couldn't survive in my dimly light apartment."

If that wasn't bad enough, the pair have effectively "banned" her from playing any music in her own home.

Explaining what they do in "retaliation", she added: "They'll turn the tub on and letting it run for minutes, vacuum directly over the spot in their apartment where my stereo is located or they'll turn on music of their own which often results in a loudness war."

What's more, they've also complained about her playing her instruments at home too.

She added: "I have both an electric and acoustic guitar that I can no longer play because it sets them off.

"Even just strumming the acoustic with the flesh part of my thumb is too loud apparently."

To try and keep the peace, the woman even moved her TV to a quieter location - but that still didn't please them.

She explained: "I moved my old living room TV into my bedroom and discovered that at the lowest volume setting, literally one notch above mute that they can hear it, even above their [air conditioning] which runs nearly 24/7, [still results] in commotion upstairs.

"So the TV is now back in the closet."

Sadly, the woman has now taken to brushing her teeth in her car because they've moaned about the sound of her electric toothbrush.

Explaining how her building's management refuse to get involved, she added: "They are allowed to be as noisy as they want, bass heavy music, video games/tv with the [speakers] cranked up.

"But I can't even make day to day noise without facing their wrath. I feel like a prisoner in my own home."

Needless to say, the woman's post left people horrified - but members urged her to stand up for herself.

One replied: "You can absolutely live your life in a normal way and ignore these fools. They're treating you like this because they're bullies, and you're letting them.

"You don't have to be a victim and let them walk all over you. Frankly, I'm not even sure how they hear you at all, over all their own noise.

"Do your thing in your apartment at reasonable noise levels. If they want to complain to management, let them, especially since you said management refuses to do anything."

Another added: "Pretend they don't exist. It will take some time, but eventually they will realize they are having no discernible effect on you and that's when they will get bored with it.

"As long as you keep reacting, keep hiding in your car, and keep showing them their tactics are working, they are going to keep pushing harder. That's just how selfish people roll.

Meanwhile, a third said: "Ignore their complaining. If they go to apartment management then you tell the management that you are not being loud during quiet hours. Then end."
