I babysit for a couple who didn’t realise how awful their baby’s name was…they had it changed when it finally clicked
MOST parents spend months carefully choosing their baby's name, including every possible nickname or shortened version that might be used instead.
But one couple missed one major thing when they landed on a name for their daughter.
Their old babysitter took to to reveal their oversight, she said: "I used to babysit for a couple who were very earnest do-gooder types."
The babysitter confessed that the couple weren't the sort of people who would ever "name their child something funny," which probably made it even more shocking when they announced the name of their daughter.
"They had a little girl named Robyn who was as sweet and sensitive as they were," she explained.
"When she was about a year and a half old, someone laughed when the couple introduced their daughter and told them how clever they were to have named her such a fun name, they were perplexed."

"Their last name was Banks. They'd inadvertently named their daughter “'robbin' banks'.
"They had it legally changed."
However the parents didn't completely get rid of the first name, "she got a new first name, and Robyn became her middle name, the babysitter shared.
"She was always called Bird as a nickname. She was still a baby when they changed it. I don’t even know if she’s aware of this story!"

A second thought they should've kept the name: "Imagine their horrified faces. I actually wouldn’t mind, if I was little Robyn there. It really is a fun name."
A third quipped: "That's a bummer, that's a awesome name."
