I bought jeans on Depop… when they arrived, I was mortified by what was in the crotch – but I was denied a refund

A DEPOP shopper was left mortified after finding nasty stains in the crotch area of the jeans she had ordered.

Over the years, Depop has become one of the most favourite shopping apps, where users can get their hands on items that other people no longer want.

But just like with all fashion online, buying something you don't have the chance to see in person comes with a huge risk.

Not only might the item not fit you properly or look completely different to what you had imagined, people can also sell virtually anything in whatever state.

And unfortunately, no one knows is better than one unlucky fashionista, who was in for a surprise upon opening a parcel delivered to her by a Depop seller.

After opening the packaging, the fashion lover proceed to inspect the goods - a pair of light-wash jeans.

This is when she realised there was a nasty stain in a dark colour in the crotch area, and of course, dropped a message to the person who had sold them.

Although it is unclear what the buyer said, the seller responded with a rather awkward apology.

''I'm sorry there is a s*it stain? I don't know what to say I'm so sorry.

''I don't know what to say because I've never sh*t my pants and I hardy wore those jeans so I don't how that got there and I'm so sorry.''

The unlucky fashionista then offered to share some images to show the state of the denim trousers.

''Yeah, I can send you photos somehow. It's all good, you might have just sat in something unknowingly, I can see if I can get the stains out but if not would you give a refund if I sent them back,'' the Depop buyer wondered.

However, despite the nasty and unexpected discovery, the seller wasn't so keen to lose the money they had just made and issue a refund.

''Again girl I am so embarrassed haha this is so bad, try to get the stain out let me know how it goes.

''And I'm sorry but I won't be able to refund the jeans still.''

A screenshot of the conversation between the parties involved - as well as the images of the dirty garment - was submitted to the popular Instagram account, .

And it's safe to say that social media users were left in stitches, with one commenting: ''The way she had to clarify she doesn’t shit her pants.''

Upon closer inspection, an eagle-eyed Instagram fan concluded: ''Looks more like period stain to me.''

''Vanish will kill period stains in light fabric tbf [to be fair], one to remember for all sellers looking,'' someone recommended.

Referring to how often people disregard PayPal and Depop policies and come up with their own no-refund rules, a fourth chuckled: ''well if it’s written in her bio, then case closed. Bio is sacred.''
