My dad had another baby at 56 & the nickname he gave her makes me so uncomfortable – it’s split opinion
AFTER having a child again at 56, a man has shared his annoyance with the nickname his father gave his new baby sister.
The 34-year-old took to the internet to share how uncomfortable he felt with the new nickname his father gave his daughter.
The 34-year-old man, known as on the social site, shares the entire story in a long that has since received over 1,000 comments.
The user shares that his father just had a baby with his girlfriend, who gets along with him really well.
His concerns have nothing to do with him not liking his girlfriend because she's cool and laid-back and babysits his own daughter, who is nine years old.
Becoming a father again at the age of 56 may not be easy, but aside from that, the Reddit user shares that the problem is that his father keeps calling his daughter aunt.
"My dad insists on calling my new baby (emphasis on baby) sister my daughter's aunt. And she doesn't like it," the man writes on the social media platform.
Apparently, the man's sister is at that age where she's starting to want to feel grown-up, and thus she hates it the nickname as well.
The Reddit user shares in the post that he's asked his parent repeatedly not to do that in front of his daughter.
He also shared his sentiments with his father's girlfriend, who didn't have a problem with it.

Furthermore, the dad insists that since the man's daughter is technically his daughter's aunt, that's how the man needs to refer to her and vice versa.
"We've been fighting about it, and he eventually snapped at me and told me I can't tell him what to call his own baby," he explains.
"I mean, yes, technically, but c'mon. Am I the a**hole?" he asks users on the platform.
Reddit users far and wide came together to offer their two cents and words of wisdom to the man's inquiry.
"Right, exactly. She understands that is their biological relationship. But it's never going to be their familial relationship because you can't have a niece dynamic with a baby. What, she's going to ask a kindergartner for advice about boys?" one user noted.
"The title "aunt" typically comes with some kind of authority. This tiny baby does not have authority over the older child, " another added.
"She’s literally a newborn. she’s not gonna care about a title. Raising them like cousins is best because they aren’t going to have a typical Aunt/niece relationship," another user voiced.
