Although a lot of people would love someone to decorate their garden for free, the mum was furious.

Explaining on , she wrote: "I came home and saw that my neighbours had decorated their house ready for Christmas.

"They had put one of their Christmas decorations on my garden without checking with me first."

The mum confessed that she "very politely" asked her neighbours to remove the decorations, but they "seemed annoyed" by her request.

"I though about letting it go," she said, since the decorations where apparently close to the boundary.

But since there's still over a month until Christmas day she instead decided to confront her neighbours.

Other Mumsnet users offered advice, with some agreeing that she has every right not to want decorations in front of her house.

"Not unreasonable at all. If they want to decorate early, that’s fine, but it is not acceptable for them to decorate someone else’s garden," one wrote.

Others said depends on the size of the decorations, saying that a huge inflatable Santa might be ok to get annoyed about, but it isn't worth causing a fuss over a few fairy lights.

Someone else thought the mum was being unreasonable, they quipped: "Grinch, is that you?"

"I understand if it was tearing through you roses, but if not, then I don’t see the harm," another said.
