MEGHAN Markle has been slammed online for "mocking" having to curtsy to the late-Queen in the Sussexes' controversial new Netflix show.

She then bowed low to demonstrate her first curtsy to the beloved former monarch, before straightening back up with a small giggle.

Before the bizarre moment, Prince Harry had explained: "My grandmother was the first senior member of the family that Meghan met. She had no idea what it all consisted of so it was a bit of a shock to the system for her.

"How do you explain that to people? How do you explain that you bow to your grandmother? And that you will need to curtsy. Especially to an American. That's weird."

Meghan added: "There wasn't like some big moment of 'Now you're going to meet my grandmother'. I didn't know I was going to meet her until moments before.

The couple revealed that she had first met the Queen at the Royal Lodge in 2016, shortly after they met.

Prince Harry said that he had reminded a stunned Meghan in the car on the way their that she would have to curtsy to his grandmother, given that she was the sitting monarch.

Describing the experience, the Duchess recalled: "Now I'm starting to realise 'This is a big deal'. I mean, Americans will understand this... We have medieval times, dinner and tournament. It was like that."

At that point she demonstrated the exaggerated curtsy and seemed to chuckle at the ridiculousness of it all.

Meanwhile, this morning, the King was pictured for the first time since the release of the bombshell series, in which Prince Harry seemed to make a jibe at him.

The prince suggested that he was "brought up" by his "second family" in Africa.

Earlier today it was revealed that neither Buckingham PalaceKensington Palace nor any member of the family were approached for comment on the content of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Netflix series.

However, that claim was disputed by a Netflix source, who said that "communications offices for King Charles and the Prince of Wales were contacted in advance and given the right to reply to claims within the series".
