In a new reel, the money coach recommends her followers take a look at their council tax payments.

Many households pay this in 10 installments, but Natalie suggests asking if you can move to 12 which will help lower your monthly payments.

She said: “Listen up, I’ve got a council tax hack for you.

“If you pay council tax, did you know that at the moment you are spreading your payments over 10 months?

“Well last time I checked, there was 12 months in the year.

“If you contact your local council and ask them if you can spread your payments over 12 months, they are likely to say yes.

“This will obviously help you with your payments, bringing your monthly payments down, giving you a bit more money to play with at the end of the month.

On the UK government website, it states: “Your council tax bill tells you how much you have to pay for the year, how that amount has been worked out, [and] the dates you have to pay.

“The cost is usually split into 10 monthly payments.

“Contact your local council immediately if you’re having trouble paying - they can help you, for example by spreading your payments over 12 months instead of 10.”

She’s not the only one sharing money-saving advice online - Laura took to TikTok to share the simple rule she followed which helped her save £40,000 by the time she was 27.

She said: “I’ve saved over £40,000 and the top tip that I absolutely tell everyone is learn how to pay yourself first.

“We have this really bad habit of going, ‘oh I’m just going to spend all my money and then just see what I’ve got left over at the end of the month’.

“Honey, you’re not going to have anything left over because your brain will spend it all.

“There’s always more things to buy, more problems to solve, more fun to be had.

“So prioritise your future self, and that future self wants to have savings, wants to have investments, wants to have big, exciting things.

“When you prioritise that person first and pay yourself first at the start of the month, and you spend what is leftover, you’re going to not only build your savings up over time, but you’re also going to be able to enjoy your month because you’ll still have stuff to do.
