Joe says: “With our lives so busy it’s easy to forget to plan meals ahead of time.

“My biggest advice for anyone starting my plan is to prep like a boss.

“Preparation and good organisation in the kitchen is key to staying on track with healthy eating and, ultimately, getting the lean body you want. Here are my top tips for nailing your prep.

1. Make time for prep

To start your journey towards lean town you have to be prepared to give yourself a block of time to prep.

To stop yourself getting home from work, tired, to an empty kitchen, plan ahead.

Schedule in time on a Sunday afternoon to smash out the week’s meals. Sort your breakfast, lunch and dinner for the next three days or so and do the same mid-week.

You’ll soon fit this into your routine and it will work wonders for helping you stick to the meal plans.

2. Plan like a pro

Stop yourself grabbing fast food on the go by writing down breakfast, lunch and dinner choices.

Factor in post-workout meals and snacks and stick to it.

Making the decision when you’re not hungry will stop you making unhealthy choices later in the day.

3. Pep up your plastic

Any pro-prepper knows the value of a hefty Tupperware collection.

If you’re plastic isn’t fantastic then you need to invest in some new containers – pronto.

I’d suggest at least ten Tupperware boxes of different sizes for meals and snacks.

4. Meet the microwave

No one wants to waste time waiting for a week’s worth of rice to boil.

Take advantage of the microwave and blitz the food you can in there instead of slaving over the stove – cutting tons of time off cooking.

5. Freezy does it

Most of my meals can be frozen, so cook multiple portions and freeze the extra in Tupperware for those days you don’t have time to cook.

6. Stock up

Never leave a cupboard empty.

Make sure you have a good stash of herbs, spices and oils to allow you to add decent flavour to your recipes.

That way you won’t be bored of broccoli or put off your peas.
