I took my bichon frise to the the groomer & came back with a totally different dog – he looks like a cartoon character

A WOMAN who took her bichon frise puppy to the groomer was baffled when he came back looking like a cartoon character.

Chloe Dodsworth, from Leeds, took her pedigree puppy for a what she hoped would be a smooth and rounded haircut.

But she was stunned when it came back a scrawny, short-haired mutt.

Taking to TikTok with snaps of the pooch, Chloe said: "Wait for it, you won't be disappointed."

Before its haircut, the white bichon frise was a pleasant-looking if somewhat scruffy puppy, which could be seen sporting a red vest and brown-tinged whiskers in one adorable pic.

Chloe hoped that a haircut would give the dog a more manicured look, with its facial fur trimmed into a neat oval, its whiskers pared back and its curls ironed out.

But the pooch came back from the groomer deprived of most of its fur, with its ears hanging limp and exposed and a stubbly toothbrush moustache beneath its nose.

Many people thought it was a dead ringer for Peabody, the bespectacled Nobel-winning beagle from DreamWorks comedy Mr Peabody & Sherman.

But dog lovers were divided over Chloe's decision to slam her dog's bizarre haircut.

One said: "Show me you don't brush your dog without showing me you don't brush your dog."

Leanne said: "If you don't brush him what do you expect?"

Chloe took on her critics, replying: "We rehomed him shortly before this groom if you must know.

"My dog probably gets his hair brushed more than you brush your teeth."
