We tested new natural deodorants on the market – one is nearly impossible to find
WHEN I switched to natural deodorant there was only one that actually worked.
But a couple of new launches mean I’ve finally got a few options.
So I’ve put three to the test.
Budget
GOBO deodorising fluid, 50ml (£9.99, ): This is how I got into natural deodorant.
The liquid is like water, so while it feels wet at first it dries very quickly.
As well as preventing body odour, it gets rid of it too.
The main problem is, it’s near-impossible to get hold of, so I’ve stopped recommending it to people.
It’s sold on Amazon, and they usually have at least one of the five scent variations in stock, but I only like the original unscented version.
I check almost daily and haven’t seen it available for at least four months, hence my needing to branch out.
Mid-range
KOSAS Chemistry Aha Serum deodorant, 70ml (£14, ): As soon as I saw this deodorant I got excited.
The packaging is completely different to the other Aha deodorants I’ve tried.
Not only is it bigger, but the tube means you can squeeze more liquid out if you need it, and I’m hoping that means there’s less waste because with the other two there’s always a couple of drops of fluid left, even when I store them upside down.
There are three scents available; Fragrance Free, Serene (citrus and ylang ylang) and Beachy Clean (jasmine, sandalwood, vanilla), which is the one I reach for most.
It’s still early days, but I think it might be my new favourite.
Luxury
NECESSAIRE The Deodorant gel, 50ml (£18, ): The heavy glass bottle and minimalist packaging immediately feels more luxe than the other two options.
It also makes it on to my high-end skincare shelf.
It’s slightly thicker than the GoBo, but dries just as quickly and makes me feel like there’s a thicker layer and thus I’m better protected.
It comes in an unscented version and eucalyptus fragrance, I don’t mind either and they both do the job.
In fact, I have no complaints, it’s only beaten by Kosas due to the higher price.
