WITH THE SUN out today, many will be thinking of heading out to their gardens to spruce it up.
Fortunately, one gardening expert has revealed the jobs you need to get done over the Easter weekend if you want your garden to bloom this summer.
Lucy Rhead, gardening whizz at Gtech, revealed you need to start pruning your garden of weeds.
She told the : "In anticipation of your garden being in full bloom, tidy up and remove any weeds from your flowerbeds and underneath any hedges to allow for new things to grow.
“This will involve raking up any dead leaves and branches that have gathered during the wild weather of winter.”
It's also the best time to start mowing your lawn again, and the expert recommends adding some grass feed now to make sure it looks lush for summer.

If you have daffodils in your lawn, wait until they are brown and dead before mowing otherwise they will fail to spring up again next year.
The gardening whizz also recommended watering your grass and plants in the morning now.
And if you have super green fingers, now is the best time to start planting vegetables.
The expert suggested planting beetroots, leeks, radishes, parsnips broccoli and cauliflower, which can all be planted directly into the soil.

She added these should be planted in a straight row to ensure they have plenty of room to grow.
It's also a good time to plant any new flowers in the garden now the risk of freeze is at a minimum.
The expert explained: "The risk of frost and extreme weather has hopefully reduced, meaning you can begin to plant some of the hardy annuals.
“Pick a day with little wind to ensure the seeds do not end up in unwanted areas of your garden.
";It is also vital to remain vigilant and protect any vulnerable plants if the weather takes a turn for the worst.”
Now is also the perfect time to replant any flowers that have outgrown their pots, said the expert.
