THE END piece of bread has always stirred up division across the country.
While many of us look forward to the crusty end piece, other's pretend it doesn't even exist.
But it has now caused an even bigger divide as people are only just realising what it is actually called.
Many people have a different name for the end piece of bread depending on what region of the United Kingdom they live in.
One Reddit user took to the subreddit , asking what others call it.
They penned: "What do you call the end bits of a loaf of bread?

"In Northern Ireland I’ve always known it as the heel.
"My (south west) English ex simply refers to it as “the end bit”, but I’ve also known it to be called the knob — unsure what part of the country this is from though."
According to the Cambridge Dictionary, the proper term is in fact 'heel' - just as the poster said.
But people were quick to take to the comments section to share what they called it, causing a huge divide.

One person wrote: "It is creatively called the end of the bread in my household."
Another penned: "The crust."
"Crust ends," agreed a third.
"Outsiders. I thought that was what everyone called it. Is this just an Ayrshire thing?" suggested another.
Meanwhile, a fifth was sure it was called 'The Business Ends.'
Someone else dismissed this claim, adding: "The heel.
"Or 'the nummy part you put under a chicken kyiv for the last 7mins in the oven so that you get a lovely big bonus bit of garlic bread'."
"It's a topper," commented one, another agreed, writing: "It is!"
