Mrs Hinch fans reveal £1 supermarket buy to clean grotty taps – and fans are amazed by how well it works
HINCHERS have come to the rescue of a woman who accidentally burned her taps with grout cleaner.
Cleaning can be a therapeutic activity - especially with the ‘tidy home, tidy life’ mentality in play.
But if you make a mistake while cleaning, like using the wrong product on a specific spot, it could prove to be quite stressful.
Katie Smith knows this all too well as when she noticed her silver taps had what appeared to be burn marks on them after a cleaning session gone wrong.
Posting a photo of what happened on the Facebook group ‘Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips’, the woman showed how there were black marks on the taps in her shower.
Katie explained that she sprayed some grout cleaner onto the area, but it went terribly wrong.

“I sprayed my tiles with grout cleaner (killrock) and it looks as though its burnt the taps,” she wrote in the social media group.
“Is there anything people could suggest to save them please,” she added.
People were quick to comment on the post, sharing their tips and tricks after going through a similar issue.
“Try stainless steel cleaner,” one person wrote.

Another said: “Are they chrome? Use chrome cleaner, if stainless steel, use tomato sauce and paper”.
A third agreed, adding: “Scrunched up parchment paper”.
Parchment paper can be found at Poundshop.com for - you guessed it - £1.
People have previously raved about this easy solution to remove hard water stains.
Scrunching the paper up into a ball, all you have to do is scrub the impacted area without using much pressure and watch as the magic takes place.
Despite these helpful suggestions, one person wasn’t as hopeful about the situation and said they didn’t think it could actually be fixed.
“It’s tarnished your taps, don’t think you can save it,” they wrote.
