Even better, there are activities suitable for rain or shine and don’t worry, you won’t need to spend hours driving in the car to get there.

Chloe Strong took to social media to show off her recent free day out, as she posted on , a private group which has 2.3 million members.

Chloe explained that she took her daughter for a summer event at her local library, whereby her daughter was able to meet an array of animals, including a snake and a tarantula.

She said: “Definitely check out your local council websites/libraries for events on over the summer.

“My three-year-old usually does clubs in the week, but because it's the holidays they're not running so I've been looking for alternatives.

“Booked an event at our local library for today. Wasn't really sure what to expect as it was just described as a story time with activities, but it was so good!

“They had a lady come in and read a story with the matching animals from the story (mostly).

“They had a snake, tarantula, giant snail etc. She was absolutely made up.

“Then at the end of the session she got a book and a little bug magnifier.

“All free, and absolutely fantastic.”

Alongside her Facebook post, Chloe shared an image of her young daughter petting a snake during the free day out.

Chloe shared her post just 10 hours ago, but it has quickly amassed 55 likes and 7 comments.

Social media users were impressed with the free day out and many were eager to express this in the comments.

One person said: “Sounds great and all for free.”

Another added: “Oh this is a fab idea.”

A third commented: “We're doing this tomorrow at our library! Very excited!”
