My dog makes me £2k a month so I don’t have to work – it’s the easiest side hustle ever, it’s paying off my mortgage
FOR most people, owning a pet is a money drain, what with all the vet bills, special food and toys to keep them entertained.
But for one savvy influencer it’s quite the opposite – in fact, her dog is ‘working’ to pay off her mortgage.
Gabrielle Judge posts on social media as , aiming to help her followers get a “lazy girl job” where they put in minimum effort and still get to live comfortably.
And in a , the canny creator shared the ultimate “lazy girl side hustle”: having your dog bring home the bacon, so you can lie around at home.
In a recent clip, Gabrielle explained that: “I’m so lazy that my dog has a job, because I’m just a dummy dummy little lazy girl who doesn’t want to work.”
The indolent influencer went on to explain that her dog makes a staggering £2k a month – amazingly, enough to “pay the mortgage”.
The resourceful pup, Solano, brings in the cash through starring in UGC, or “User Generated Content”.
Pet brands need a lot of content of dogs using their products to use for adverts and packaging – walking on a lead, for example, of chomping down on their food.
By making 10 to 15 videos each month and selling them back to the company, the pup rakes in a stash of cash.
“It’s a really easy way to make some extra money on the side,” Gabrielle explains. “Your dog gets to try new products, you’re not harming the dog, the dog is just doing normal stuff it would normally do – you’re just videoing it.”
There’s even special pet agencies that put you in contact with brands, so they can tell you exactly the type of content they’re after.
In the caption to her clip, Gabrielle explains that because “the pet economy is sky-rocketing as most people are nesting with dogs instead of having children”, demand for material is higher than ever.
“This is a low commitment and flexible way to make extra money without having to get another job,” she concludes.
Her video racked up a staggering 200k likes, with users eager to cash in on their pooch’s earning potential.
“Pet rent is due,” one user wrote in the comments.
“My girl is gorgeous,” another added, “I’m putting that freeloader to WORK.”
“Can my rabbit get a brand deal?” a third joked. “He kinda gives off celebrity vibes.”
