I’m an interior designer & took a tour of IKEA – the items which look expensive & the specific photo frame you need
AN interior designer expert has revealed her top buys to grab from IKEA.
Kris Buckout toured the store and gave people an insight into what homeware to put in their basket and what not to.
“Rapid fire things that I’m okay with you getting from IKEA as an interior designer,” she said in the clip posted to social media.
First up was the Lanesun bookcase which is made from wood and black metal, she added the design was chic and looked way more high-end than it’s price tag.
Next, she said she loved the photo frames, especial those with matting detail.
She was also a big fan of their rattan home which included storage baskets and magazine racks.
There was also a rattan bench with storage in the seating area that would look perfect at the end of a bed.
Next, Kris moved on to the kitchenware, she loved the white metal colander but admitted it was way too expensive at $18.
The interior designer pro also loved the plain Trampa door matts and said they were great to use as a DIY project if you want to personalise it.
She was also a big fan of the tea towel selection and the green-tinted glass cake stand called Vinterfint, which also looked much pricier than its $20 price tag.
The interior designer also recommended the vases form IKEA if you wanted something affordable that looked expensive.
She also saw some on-trend dried flowers but she was stunned to see they were $25 for a pack so left them there.
The clip posted to her TikTok account @went viral with over 300k views and 15k likes.
People loved her picks from the store but many complained it had gotten pretty expensive.
One person wrote: “Ugh. Now I gotta go to IKEA.”
Another commented: “The bench.”
Meanwhile, many were stunned by the prices which had seemingly gone up, a third said: “IKEA is so overpriced now.”
“And thank you for calling out the overpricing,” claimed a fifth.
Someone else added: “Wow, their prices have gone way up!”
