Shoppers racing to Home Bargains to get Christmas-ready and the beauty dupes are ‘great for stocking fillers’

BEAUTY fans are racing to Home Bargains to get Christmas-ready as its beauty dupes were dubbed “great stocking fillers”.

The discount retailer’s beauty aisles have been gaining traction in recent years as shoppers started unearthing dupes of their favourite products for a fraction of the price.

And as the yuletide season creeps closer, shoppers are keen to get ahead on presents and stocking fillers amid the cost of living crisis.

Mhairi Garrow took to Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK to share the latest deals on Home Bargains’ beauty aisles.

And the best three products she discovered were not only dupes, but all cost less than £2.

“Nice wee stocking filler ideas,” Mhairi penned. “Great prices.”

Fully stocked in her local store in Nairn, Scotland was the Biovene Glow Mask, costing just £1.99 rather than its retail price of £10.95.

It is a dupe for Glamglow’s YouthMud Glow Stimulating Treatment Mask, which is so tricky to get in the UK that resellers are flogging bottles on eBay.

“The facial exfoliating Glow Mask with star ingredients Australian Pink Clay, glycolic acid, ginseng and rose petals,” a description on Biovene’s product reads.

“Strengthens and energises skin for a radiant glow, and helps minimise the appearance of the signs of ageing.”

Glycolic acid is a chemical exfoliant that helps shed dead skin cells and reveal brighter layers or skin underneath, while rose petals have antibacterial properties to help acne, irritated skin and redness.

Ginseng works as an antioxidant to delay the ageing of your skin and Australian Pink Clay draws out toxins and impurities lurking in your pores.

Mhairi also found assorted MasqueBAR tube masks for just 99p - significantly cheaper than their retail price of £8.99.

Each mask is a dupe in its own right, such as the Gold Peel Off Brightening Tube Mask being a dupe for Eclat Skin’s £68 Anti-Wrinkle Elixir Serum 24K Gold + Purifying Black Peel-Off Mask 24K Gold.

The third item Mhairi posted - and the one with the biggest discount - was the Laia Beauty Eyeshadow Palette.

These palettes are dupes for Huda Beauty, coming in the same iconic square packaging with six shades each.

Retailing at £24.99 full price, they were just £1.99 in Home Bargains.

One beauty buff claimed the eyeshadow palettes are “amazing” in the comments of Mhairi’s post.

“These eyeshadows have great pigment,” another affirmed.

John Lewis recently reported that searches for festive gifts on its website have doubled from this time last year.

The department store believes the soaring figures are partly due to families needing to spread the cost.
