That's what one family did - set themselves a £5 budget to buy someone something from a charity shop.

And Becky took to her Instagram page to document the moment they opened the gifts as they sat down to an early Christmas dinner.

"My family did a £5 charity shop Secret Santa and here's how it went," she wrote over the top of the .

Sophie was up next, and looked thrilled with her Rudolph the reindeer AirPod case.

She then opened up an inflatable alien costume, which she promptly tried on, much to the amusement of the other dinner guests.

Tony was up next, and gamely modelled the cracker hat he was given, before opening a foot skin scraper - perhaps not a present you want to get secondhand.

Helen was third, opening a wooden bird house, while John was given a fun checked shirt.

Sandra looked delighted with her cute sheep painting, while Steff's ring toss game was sure to be a post-dinner hit.

Becky was the last to open her gift - a weighted hula hoop.

"Which gift would you most like to receive?" she wrote alongside the video.

"Rule: buy one person a gift from a charity shop for £5 or less."

People were quick to comment on the video, with one writing: "Rudolph case wins!"

"Awesome and hilarious," another commented.

"Such a good idea," a third added.

"This is quite fun without spending loads of money," someone else wrote.

"What a lovely family, I'm jealous!" another said.

While others weren't sure about the gifts - one in particular.

"Wait what?!" one wrote.

"I'm all for thrift gifting but a second hand foot scraper?!"

"Foot skin scraper from a charity shop!" another said.

"Let's hope it was new in a sealed box!"

"This is just a lot of crap, it's probably going to go straight back to charity shop box anyway..." a third commented.
