I live in a tiny boat – people say I must freeze in winter but easy heating method means I actually have to open doors
The TikToker shared four ways she keeps warm in her home.
A BOAT-DWELLER has shared how she keeps her home warm enough in the cold winter months to leave her doors open.
Dot explained which four methods she used to stay hot and which ones were also cost-effective.

The Tiktoker (@tanglewoodandtwo) shared a video and revealed that she does not often get cold despite living on a narrowboat.
“The windows are always open as it is actually so hot inside,” she said.
In the , Dot responded to a comment from a viewer that said, “You must freeze in winter.”
The boat-dweller shared that her first method to heat her space in the winter was a log burner.
Dot explained that this technique actually warmed up most of her space more than she needed.
“Which gets extremely hot in the winter to the point where like doors are open, windows are open,” she said.
Dot did add that a drawback of the log burner was that the heat did not reach her room which was on the other side of the boat.
The narrowboat's diesel heater radiators spread the heat throughout the rest of her boat property.

Dot shared that this method was not always available on many narrowboats.
“Some boats don’t have this though so I guess if you’re just relying on a log burner it probably does get a little bit chilly,” she said.
Dot also used hot water bottles as a low cost way to keep warm.
“This is also very cost effective for me as obviously I am just relying on gas which is like £4 ($5) a month, so it’s nothing,” she explained.
The Tiktoker added that she especially liked to do this when she worked from home.
Her final method to keep warm was to use heated blankets.
Dot shared that this was also cost effective for her and helped solve a problem caused by the log burner.
“Really useful because my bed is so far away from the fire,” she said.
