Just last month, Nestlé announced that they would be withdrawing the popular chocolate bar from their range for good after 60 years.

The Animal Bar was first manufactured in 1959 and sold by Makintosh's under a different name until a rebrand in 1963.

An Animal bar is usually designed with two different animals along with their names moulded on the surface of the chocolate.

The mini chocolate bars were designed for children and come with a fun game inside the wrapper.

Nestlé said the chocolate bar was being discontinued after 60 years "due to the low performance of the product and a steady decline in its sales over the past few years," according to .

But now, shoppers are scrambling to nab the bars before they leave the shelves for good.

One chocolate lover took to social media to alert shoppers to the whereabouts of the much-loved bars.

An anonymous Facebook user posted on , a private group with 2.4 million members, and shared a picture of the cheap finds.

The foodie confirmed that they nabbed a whole box of the bars, as they wrote: “Yesterday I found out that the Animal Bars are being discontinued.

“Whatever stock is left is left. Last batch expires 1/9/24.

“This was the stock left in B&M Swansea by the Matalan store.

“The other two stores had no stock left.”

The post was shared just two days ago, but it has clearly shocked many, as it has quickly amassed 209 likes and 247 comments.

Social media users were eager to get their hands on the chocolate bars, which many took to the comments to express.

One person said: “They were 10 pence when I was a kid and I loved them.”

Another tagged a loved one and added: “Stock up.”

A third commented: “Going to have to stock up my daughter loves them.”

At the same time, many were totally gutted at the news of the chocolate bar being discounted.

One foodie wrote: “Nestle, it's a crime stopping them… I’ve been searching far and wide for my granddaughter, I loved them as a child and so does she!”

A second chimed in: “Very sad as our children regularly had one of these.”

Someone else shared: “Discontinued. How dare they! They’ve been around since we were wee!!”

Whilst another penned: “Another part of my childhood being stripped away.”

Meanwhile, many shoppers tagged their friends and loved ones to alert them to the B&M bargains.

One user tagged a Facebook user and asked: “If you find any can you get me some.”

And another advised a loved one: “Go get some!!”

But Animal Bars aren’t the only chocolate that is being discontinued.

Nestlé also revealed that they will be discounting the iconic Caramac bar too.

The chocolatiers said the decision to discontinue the Caramac and Animal Bar chocolate bars was based on a lack of sales.

“We are very sorry to disappoint fans of Caramac,” a Nestlé spokesperson told The Sun.

“There has been a steady decline in its sales over the past few years and we had to make the difficult decision to discontinue it.
