Tandem app co-founder Michelle Winterfield () shares financial tips and money-saving tricks for couples.

In an , she shared a wedding tip that "no one really talks about" and should take advantage of.

"The average wedding in the United States in 2023 cost $29,000, so here's how you can cut that in half," she explained.

The secret is to use the deals available at your local Costco.

The superstore store is for more than just grocery shopping because you can save more than half off on vital wedding details.

Michelle listed a few examples of how you can cut back on wedding expenses by using Costco.

"You can save 51% on your save-the-dates and invitations through their partnership with Shutterfly," she said.

In addition, diamond engagement rings and wedding bands are much cheaper there than other jewelry stores.

"Big category items like flowers and cake can also be done through Costco," she added.

Lastly, you can also budget for an important event after the wedding through their "fire travel agency."

"You can easily save on your honeymoon by booking through them," Michelle said.

Many viewers were familiar with the hack and couldn't praise it enough in the comments.

"Seriously do it! We also did our own catering through Costco. Wedding and honeymoon came out to under $7,000 because Costco is the GOAT [Greatest of all time]," one commented.
