A WOMAN has found a savvy way to get rid of black mould growing around her window for good.

Mould and dampness are not only unsightly, but they can be dangerous to your overall health.

Taking to the Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips Facebook page, she asked fellow homeowners for help.

She wrote: "Help! Mould!"

Mrs Hinch, who was one of the first 'cleanfluencers', is a staple amongst the online cleaning community and regularly shares advice with her followers.

The group member continued: "I have this situation in most rooms in my house where there seems to be mould growing around the windows on the walls."

She revealed that some of the paint by the windows had begun to crack and peel because of the mould and asked how she could get rid of it for good.

"Is there a special paint I now need to prime the wall with before painting white again?

"Any help is much appreciated as this problem is really getting us down."

People came out in droves in the comments section to help the poor woman out and many claimed there were just two products she needed to get the job done.

Those two products were Astonish mould and mildew blaster, and an anti-mould paint.

Mould-resistant paint can work in two ways - some anti-mould paints contain biocides that kill mould growth, while other paints contain advanced technology that prevents the moisture that leads to mould from gathering.

It's important to treat mould growing in the home as soon as you spot it as it can be dangerous to your health.

Mould grows by producing tiny particles called spores - these are air-bound and can grow quickly in your home.

The states damp and mould in your home you're more likely to have respiratory problems, respiratory infections, allergies or asthma.

Damp and mould can also affect the immune system.

Thankfully, plenty of people came to her rescue.

One person wrote: "This stuff from B&M is brilliant.," they said as they shared a picture of the Astonish mould and mildew blaster which you can buy for £1.49 in Asda.

She then added a picture of the Ronseal damp seal paint which she recommended using after treating the mould and before decorating.

The product can be purchased for just £9.99 from Zoro.

And it seemed plenty of people agreed with the woman's mould-busting hack.

Another suggested cleaning the wall with sugar soap and then applying the Astonish mould and mildew spray onto the mould.

"Watch it disappear before your eyes," she continued.

After she recommended letting the wall dry before using mould-resistant paint to prevent it from coming back

"Great stuff," penned a third.

Meanwhile a fourth said: "Clean off again and then use an anti mould/condensation paint. Two coats. Will last ages."

"This is brilliant,” claimed a fifth.
