‘We’re not millionaires!’ say Sue & Noel Radford as they look to buy a second home in addition to their 10-bed place

NOEL Radford has insisted he and wife Sue are "not millionaires" despite people's assumptions.

Mum-of-22 Sue Radford and her husband Noel, who live in Morecambe with their big brood, have recently released new book 'Making Life Count' where they revealed they were looking to buy a second home in addition to their 10-bed family home.

In one extract, Sue recalls the judgement the couple received from social media users after splashing out on a lavish motorhome, which they frequently use for family UK getaways.

"When we bought the motorhome, so many people were like, 'you're just rubbing it in people's faces,'" she says.

"I'd wanted a motorhome for years and we have had to work bloody hard to be in a position where we could actually afford to buy one, so why aren't we allowed to?"

But despite what some may believe, Noel points out that the couple are not millionaires.

"Some people do have an obsession about the word 'millionaire' but we just chuckle when people mention this, because we're certainly not millionaires!" he quips.

Later in the book, he explains how the couple have been thinking of moving from their 10-bed house in Morecambe, which has been the big brood's home since 2004, while potentially renting out part of their current house.

"We wanted to move, because we wanted more space - but we thought, 'we just can't bring ourselves to sell the house that has been our family home for so long,' Noel says.

He adds that in the Autumn of 2023, they'd found a new place in the country a few miles away from their family home.

"Before we made that decision to move, we did the sums and, because we only have a relatively small mortgage on the old place, we realised we could afford to keep it," Noel explains.

However, it wasn't meant to be.

Noel says that the plans were so close to happening and they'd even decided on long-term plans for the old house, which was to run it as an Airbnb or rent out part of it.

But, he adds: "The guy that was selling the house - his house purchase fell through and it all got a bit complicated."

Sue goes on to note that they'll have to see what the future holds, but says that they still want to find a new place.

"Ideally, we will be able to keep the house we're still in now and buy a second one which, again, some of the family will move into," she explains.

The mum-of-22 also recalls all of the work the couple have done to the house since first moving in - including refurbishing the bedrooms and turning the outside of the house into a "real entertainment complex - with the pool and the bar."
