I’m a gardening whizz and swear by an 8p hack to keep slugs and snails off my strawberries – it works a treat

"The organza bag hack!" he titled the post.

"It works! I’m actually getting to eat my strawberries before the slugs and snails!" he added.

In the picture, he'd used little organza bags to put over the biggest strawberries.

The ties at the top mean that he was able to secure them quite tightly to stop any unwanted visitors.

And given that you can get a pack of 50 organza bags on Amazon for £3.99, this hack won't break the bank either.

When the strawberry is ripe and ready to eat, the organza bag can be easily removed and can also be used for another of the fruits.

"I use organza bags to catch seeds of plants I want to propagate but never realised I could save my strawberries with the same technique!"

To which the man responded: "It’s amazing!

"The local snail population must be fuming but I don’t care!"

"I tried this and because the bags hold water everyone I covered rotted," someone else sighed.

"Oh no!" the green-fingered man responded.

"I’m literally only putting the bags on a day or two before they ripen so maybe that’s why I haven’t had any problems?"
