I’m a brow expert – avoid a TikTok trend that will leave you with a ‘stubby’ look, I prefer a more flattering trick
TIKTOK is full of helpful hacks but you may want to skip a certain beauty trick.
A brow expert has revealed the trend that is leaving you with a "stubby" look and the tip she recommends instead.
Yana Gushchina, the founder of London-based , warned against using a certain beauty item to shape your brows.
She spoke exclusively to The U.S. Sun about the best way to care for your eyebrows.
TIKTOK TREND
According to Yana, an ill-advised shaping method has taken off on social media.
She explained why the viral eyebrow trend is causing more harm than good.
"[There are] TikTok trends of people shaving the ends of their eyebrows off," she said.
"This can so easily go wrong and then you’re left with stubby brows."
broke down the reasons why you should avoid using a razor on your brows.
As well as a "stubby and blunt" regrowth period, the experts also pointed out the impracticality of the move.

"Since brows help prevent dust, debris, and sweat from entering your eyes, shaving them off completely can make it easier for these materials to come into contact with your eyes," they explained.
They also highlighted the risk of "nicking or cutting the sensitive skin in your brow area."
Finally, they explained that shaving your brows can easily end up with an uneven finish.
BROW-MAPPING
Yana recommended doing your research on the best brow shape for your face before taking any action.
"The concept of ‘brow-mapping’ at home using the viral filters on TikTok can be useful when used correctly," she said.
"It has meant that emphasis is being placed on finding a brow shape that compliments your individual face shape and features.
"Whether that’s a thicker, straight brow or a high arch, it’s about finding what is the most flattering for you, which is great."
THICK BROWS
If you tried out the TikTok shaving trend or are simply trying to fill out your brows after years of overplucking, Yana has some helpful advice.
She recommends using castor oil on your eyebrows to encourage hair growth.
You can also apply argon oil, which stimulates growth and protects against hair damage.
