WHEN it comes to picking out a wedding guest dress there's only one rule to remember - don't upstage the bride.
But it seems one woman hasn't got the memo and is planning to wear a red too-tight fitting dress on her best friend's wedding day.
Taking to social media, the young woman showed off the dress and asked others if it was appropriate for the wedding.
She revealed that the dress code for the evening was black tie/red carpet inspired.
"My best friend is getting married!!! Is this appropriate to wear to her black tie/red carpet wedding?" she asked.
"How should I do my hair, jewellery, shoes etc?"

In the post, she wore the dress which was bright pink and floor-length.
The dress was tight-fitting in the upper body and around the thighs then draped off into a mermaid tail.

It also had a deep V-neck front with thin straps and a plunging backless design.
While the dress did look event-ready, many claimed it was inappropriate for a wedding.

They also noted that the fabric ruching at the back of the dress was too risque for such an occasion.
And that's not all.
In addition, people claimed the fabric itself was far too stretchy and cheap looking to wear when the wedding had such a formal dress code.
People were quick to share their thoughts on the dress that was published in Reddit's forum.
The majority of Reddit users said she should think twice about wearing the dress.
One person wrote: "It reminds me of a stretchy yoga pants material. Would you wear yoga pants to a wedding? I agree, a little more fancy/classy will suit better."
Another commented: "You look great in it but you look like you are going to prom, not a black tie wedding."
"The length is appropriate for black tie, but the fabric (I can see the outline of your underwear) and the butt ruching are not," penned a third.

"Nope, it’s way too casual. It looks like something more appropriate for a beach wedding,” claimed a fifth.
