An appearance that defies the signs of aging has been highly desired throughout time and many people are now used to looking at filtered photos of themselves.

Makeup artist Charlene Flanagan co-founded the cosmetics brand alongside skin therapist Niamh Ryan.

She revealed you don’t have to be a professional to apply makeup in a way that makes your skin look flawless.

GLOW UP

Flanagan said swapping powders for cream-based products will “instantly” have an anti-aging effect.

This includes changing bronzers and eyeshadows in favor of creamy formulas.

She said “less is more” when applying makeup and revealed the best results aren’t achieved using a brush or sponge.

“Cream products will help add moisture back into mature skin and are more pigmented to help cover redness or age spots that powder could not,” she said.

“As well as this, powders can sit on top of the skin, which can eventually settle into and enhance fine lines and wrinkles.

“Simply apply cream formulas with your fingers for an instant glow and lift that will have people complimenting on your radiance all day.”

BRUSH UP

The beauty expert warned that a dirty makeup brush can contain more bacteria than a toilet seat.

She said people are unaware of how a filthy tool can impact makeup application and skin health.

“Dirty makeup brushes are a secret skin sabotager - dead skin cells, bacteria, and oil all build up on dirty makeup brushes,” she said.

“This causes the skin to break out more and makeup to look caked and not correctly blended.”

Flanagan revealed Ella & Jo’s has proven popular among pro makeup artists (MUAs) and everyday makeup users.

She said the $25.36 product can “prolong” the life of makeup brushes.

“Simply spray directly onto the brush hair and swirl in circular motions on a cloth,” she said.

“Leave for two minutes and voilà dry and clean brushes."

Customers have given it a five-star rating.

One person said it sanitizes their makeup brushes and gives them a “gorgeous citrus” smell, while another described the cleanser as a “game changer.”

"My brushes haven't been cleaned in a long time," a third said.

"Too embarrassed to say.

"I used the squeaky clean spray and I couldn't believe how good of a job it did on my brushes.

"They were all brand new looking again. Very impressed."
