A SIMPLE change to your makeup routine could make you instantly look younger, says a professional makeup artist.

She revealed the beauty tricks she uses on her clients to diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

She revealed you don’t have to be a professional to apply makeup in a way that makes your skin look flawless.

Flanagan said swapping powders for cream-based products will “instantly” have an anti-aging effect.

This includes changing bronzers and eyeshadows in favor of creamy formulas.

She said “less is more” when applying makeup and revealed the best results aren’t achieved using a brush or sponge.

“Cream products will help add moisture back into mature skin and are more pigmented to help cover redness or age spots that powder could not,” she said.

“As well as this, powders can sit on top of the skin, which can eventually settle into and enhance fine lines and wrinkles.

According to , makeup brushes can also be cleaned using baby shampoo or a gentle cleanser with warm water.

This should be done at least twice each month to keep pores free from “gunk and grime.”
