I work at Matalan – people are always saying the shop’s name wrong, are YOU guilty of it?
IT'S arguably one of the most popular high-street fashion stores.
But when it comes to its name, people are getting it wrong on a regular basis.
The Matalan TikTok page shared a of a store front, writing over the top: "Our name is Matalan but we also go by..."
The next slide then had "Mataland" written all over it.
"Special shout out to Matt & Alan too," they added in the caption.
And in the comments section, people admitted they have been guilty of using the wrong name in the past.

"OMG I call it Mataland," one wrote.
To which Matalan replied: "You're part of a very big club!"
"My mother in law called it Mataland, she also says Primart," another laughed.
"Told my son we were going to Mataland and he was so excited, until we pulled up," a third commented.
"He thought it was another type of Disneyland or Peppa Pig land - he was so upset!";
"I used to work for you and called it Mataland!" someone else admitted.

Use barcode scanners - Retailers such as B&M let shoppers scan the barcodes on its app to see if it's cheaper than the price listed on the shelf
"My nanna calls it Mataland too lol," someone else said.
"Worked at Matalan 2012-2019," another wrote.
"Wish we as staff were given as much free rein as this TikTok has been given. I had loads of good ideas!!!"
"My dad once text me about going to 'Materland'," another laughed.
"I couldn't work out what he meant for ages!"
