THIS time of year doesn't just bring the sunshine, it means pesky creepy crawlies are back around our gardens and homes.

Ants play an important role in nature but can be annoying when they disturb the soil around your plants — or waltz right into your kitchen in search of crumbs.

Some species of ants are also known to sting or bite.

With the increase in warm weather and longer days, spring also brings with it a fresh group of spiders trying to get into your home.

So shoppers have been left delighted after spotting a "brilliant" bargain buy that gets rid of crawling insects.

The Raid freeze spray usually costs a fiver but is currently on offer in Morrisons for just 75p - a whopping 85% off.

Posting a picture of their find on the  Facebook group - a private group that boasts more than 2.4million followers - bargain hunter Kris said: "Morrisons, hope it's working well. Full price £5."

The spray promises it uses 0% insecticide but still freezes crawling insects in seconds.

It claims that is is effective agains ants, spiders and stink bugs.

And while it doesn't kill the critters, it leaves them momentarily paralysed, giving you the chance to move it outside or away from your garden.

Shoppers are now racing to their nearest branch to get their hands on the sale spray.

"We need this", gushed one.

A second pleaded to a pal: "Nip to morrisons."

A third simply wrote: "Let's go."

Meanwhile, someone who's tried it before said: "I’ve used this and it’s brilliant."

He said: “Ants hate the smell of citrus, so save your orange and lemon peel and scatter them around entry points such as your window sills, doorways, and corners of your room. 

“Alternatively, soak cotton wool pads in peppermint oil and place around these corners to help repel the insect.

“You can also place these around bins or the compost corner, to help keep ants at bay.

“For a natural way to deter ants from coming into your home, sprinkle coffee grounds around the perimeter of your home. 

“This will help to create a ‘barrier’ for the ants, as they don’t like the feeling underfoot.”
