My tape hack preps skin and removes dry patches in a hurry – do it before putting on foundation, it’s weird but it works
Moisturizer should be applied after doing the hack
A BEAUTY guru has revealed the bizarre hack she uses to quickly get rid of dry patches on her skin ahead of big events.
She said the budget-friendly trick should be done before applying makeup products such as foundation.
According to , dry skin on the face is a “common” issue and there are many causes why it may occur.
It can be a symptom of aging, dehydration, vitamin deficiencies, skin conditions, medications, and the surrounding environment.
Dryness can be prevented by washing your face daily with a mild cleanser and lukewarm water and using a dedicated skincare routine.
It is recommended to speak to a doctor if symptoms worsen as it could be a sign of an underlying health condition.
A beauty enthusiast took to Reddit’s AskWomen forum to share a hack she swears by using the handle
“If you don’t have time to prep skin before a big event like a wedding or something, get some scotch tape and take off any dry patches you might have and put on moisturizer directly after before you do your foundation f**king weird but hey you gotta do what you gotta do sometimes,” she wrote.
She said once the tape is on the skin, rub the area before peeling it to remove the dry patches.
She revealed it usually takes a few pieces of tape to achieve the best result.
However, the hack can harm skin that has acne and won’t work if it’s done after makeup has been applied to the face.
A 4-pack of transparent Scotch tape costs just $2.89 at .
Many people up-voted the post and thanked the Redditor for sharing her advice.
“This is genius,” one person wrote.
“It’s like waxing, but for lil flaky areas,” another said.
“I do it too because having foundation go cakey on a dry patch is the worst.”
