A MUM has revealed how she turned her loft into an annexe for her son because he couldn't afford his rent.
She explained that private rent had become too expensive for her 29-year-old son to pay, so he was forced to move back home.
But instead of having to share the property with his parents, they decided to convert their loft so that he had his own space.
"Our son returned home he couldn't afford local rent," she wrote over the top of her TikTok .
"So we converted our loft into a studio flat for him and his dog."
They got council approval before beginning the conversion, and it's taken three months from start to finish - now there are just a few finishing touches to be made.

The annexe is accessed via steps to the side of the main house.
There's a balcony out the front, while the door opens into a lounge with a small kitchen area.
There's a bedroom and en-suite bathroom too, and the "beautiful views of the orchards really make it a peaceful haven".
"Now he has a home for his little girl to come visit," she concluded.

But they still charge him rent, of £400 a month.
As an added bonus though, he gets his washing done and "an evening meal downstairs with his mum and dad lol".
"He’s never going to leave!" one person commented on the TikTok.
