A COUPLE in their early 20s has revealed how they built their own home from scratch and how much it cost.
The woman revealed she was 22 and her partner was 25, and managed to build most of the house for just £300k thanks to getting the land for free.
In the clip posted to social media, she said the couple got the land to build their property on for free as they inherited it.
"If it wasn't for this - we would have struggled to build," she added.
One of the first big purchases the couple had to make was of course, the architecture plans and designs for the property, which cost them £10,000.
They then went on to start building the groundwork and foundations of the home which set them back £12,000.

Self-Build Homes In England
According to the website self-build and custom housebuilding covers a wide spectrum, from projects where individuals are involved in building or managing the construction of their home from beginning to end, to projects where individuals commission their home, making key design and layout decisions, but the home is built ready for occupation.
In considering whether a home is a self-build or custom build home, relevant authorities must be satisfied that the initial owner of the home will have primary input into its final design and layout.
Off-plan housing, homes purchased at the plan stage prior to construction and without input into the design and layout from the buyer, are not considered to meet the definition of self-build and custom housing.
"We had a self-build mortgage for the remainder of the build."
The clip went viral over on her TikTok account @with over 636k views and 18k likes.
People were in awe over the massive home with many claiming it was probably cheaper than buying a ready-built home.
