Goldie Hawn’s makeup artist shares tweaks to make for aging skin – avoid an unflattering ‘striped contour’ trend
A CELEBRITY makeup artist has revealed the simple tweaks he turns to when working with mature skin.
Armand Beasley is the beauty pro behind Goldie Hawn's glamorous looks, and he's spilled some secrets he swears by and the products he recommends.
His clients have included Nicole Scherzinger, Downton Abbey’s Joanna Frogget, HRH Sultanah Kalsom of Malaysia, and English actress Denise Welch.
Speaking to The U.S. Sun, he shared little-known tips for how to enhance the appearance of aging skin.
FACE FLAW
Beasley advised being cautious about following social media beauty trends as they may look different in person.
He shared a popular one to avoid.
“Overuse of highlighters that have glitter particles on the cheeks and nose,” he said.
“The striped contour effect looks so unflattering, and although you can get away with it on a picture or social media with the help of various filters, in real life it’s so unflattering.
“Less is more in my opinion, and I always refrain from using filters on my work as I want people to see the natural beauty of my clients not a strange AI version of them.”
Beasley described himself as “pro-aging” and said people should learn to make the best of themselves.
He shared two factors to consider before applying any makeup products.
“Never use face wipes and always look after your skin,” he said.

He also recommended revamping how eye makeup is applied with age.
“Swap your black under-eyeliner pencil with either a lounge-wearing dark brown shadow or a dark grey shadow as this won’t look as hard around the eyes,” he said.
“Also only apply a pressed powder or mattifying powder on the T-zone — keep your cheekbones and cheeks satin or glossy.”

Beasley revealed a selection of effective products that he keeps in his makeup bag.
