Nick Cannon’s 11 kids ‘may well become hugely embarrassed’ by dad in addition to ‘resentment & insecurity,’ says expert
FATHER'S Day is coming up on June 16 — and no one will be busier than Nick Cannon.
The 43-year-old has 11 kids with six different women and he plans to "connect" with all of them on his special day.
Despite his efforts, though, a parenting expert is concerned that Nick's "narcissistic" behavior could negatively impact the kids as they grow up.
Nick had his first two kids, Moroccan and Monroe, with Mariah Carey while they were married in 2011.
After they split in 2014, he welcomed son Golden and daughter Powerful Queen with Brittany Bell in 2017 and 2020, respectively.
Then the overlaps started. He had twins Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir with DJ Abby De La Rosa in June 2021.

That same year, he and Alyssa Scott had a baby boy named Zen, who died of brain cancer at five months old.
In 2022, he and model Bre Tiesi welcomed son Legendary, who was followed months later by daughter Onyx Ice with model LaNisha Cole.
He had three more babies that same year: Rise Messiah with Brittany, Beautiful Zeppelin with Abby, and Halo Marie with Alyssa.
And Nick said he plans to get time with all of them on Sunday.
"It's supposed to be a day where I get to rest, but I want to give all my kids the opportunity to connect and give me gifts, and all that type of stuff," he told .
"It's a fun day and I appreciate all the love that I get on that day."
But according to , his posturing as dad of the year isn't super convincing.

Families come in all shapes and sizes, and it is not unusual for kids to have step- or half-siblings.
However, while that is a perfectly normal setup for many, Nick has really pushed the boundaries on what is the "norm."
His story sounds like something out of a soap opera, but this is the reality that Nick and his large brood, plus ex-partners, are living.
Having 11 kids to support is not a problem for a big celebrity like Nick, from a financial point of view.
But being able to support all of his kids emotionally is something that he himself has admitted is a big challenge, as he revealed on an episode of The Checkup with Dr. Agus in December 2022.
He essentially wants to give his kids a 'meet and greet' with him.

“Being a father of multiple kids, it’s always the biggest guilt on me is that I don’t get to spend enough time with all my children, one ‘cause I’m constantly working and two because I’m just spread thin,” he said.
All parents can relate to having parent guilt, especially guilt over not spending enough time with their kids.
The juggle is real for many families, but before we get the violins out and start feeling sorry for Nick, let’s not skirt over the matter of Father’s Day and his comments regarding how he intends to spend the day.
Props to him for seeing his kids — all of them? Who can be sure?
But while reminding his followers that he should be having a day of rest, he also stated that he “wanted to give all my kids the opportunity to connect and give me gifts, and all that type of stuff.”
That’s right, he essentially wants to give his kids a "meet and greet" with him.
He expects that they will adorn him with homemade gifts and cards and be forced to massage his ego as the world’s best dad.

Trying to appease his feelings of guilt, or trying to have a proper relationship with each of his children?
It’s a bit narcissistic when you read his quotes on being a dad — it’s all about him and how he feels, what suits him. Only in Hollywood!
Let’s not forget that in the middle of this circus are his 11 children, who cannot get through life unscathed from the actions of their dad.
It is entirely possible that Cannon’s older children, whom he shares with Mariah Carey, are perhaps finding things tougher, considering that they spent time living with their dad as a family unit.
Now, not only are they having to navigate their parents' split, but they have also had to get their heads around sharing their dad with nine other children.
This means that they may feel resentful towards their half-siblings and their father.
Throw in all the media and online scrutiny, they may well become hugely embarrassed by their father as they grow up.
Having half-siblings can be tricky for children to accept, as often it cements that their parents are definitely not getting back together and it changes the family dynamics.
This can leave children feeling insecure within their relationship with their parent and unsure of their place and importance to them.
For Moroccan and Monroe, this means that they may not want to spend Father’s Day "connecting" with their siblings, or indeed spend any time with them.
The nine children who arrived after Nick and Mariah’s divorce may see things a little differently though, as they have eight other siblings and half-siblings in the same boat.
To them, they know no different, so their family setup is quite normal, but as they grow older, that could change.
Growing up and understanding their situation more, the kids could again, feel embarrassed by their father and it could impact their relationships as their dad’s reputation could make people want to steer clear of them.
Nick admitted in The Jason Lee Podcast last year that he spends the most time with Onyx Ice Cole Cannon, his daughter with model LaNisha Cole.
He said he sees her as much as LaNisha does, at least three times a week, even having a nursery connected to his office.
Whether or not that is still the case, it means the other eight kids have missed out on having the same amount of time with their dad.
Knowing that their half-sibling spends more time with their dad than themselves could also build up resentment, plus feelings of insecurity — not feeling good enough, or feeling as important and leave them with trust issues as they grow up.
Role modeling is a key part of parenting, and a lack of positive role models in a child’s life can have devastating consequences, leaving kids messed up and making bad decisions.
Luckily though, it seems as though the kids have plenty other role models in their lives without their dad, in the shape of their mom.

Despite it all, they are solo parenting their way through this very unique situation that they have found themselves in and are putting in the hard work, day in, day out.
